Patriots HC Bill Belichick apologizes to media for being 'short' after loss to Colts

You don't have to be an avid sports fan to know that Bill Belichick is notorious for having an icy and downright surly demeanor when he addresses the media.

So, it wasn't totally surprising when the hoodie-sporting head coach had an attitude after the Patriots got upended by the Colts 27-17 on Saturday, getting blown out before scoring 17 in the third quarter.

What was surprising, however, was that Belichick opened up his Monday morning video conference by apologizing for his infamous behavior.

"Look, fellas, I apologize if it seemed like I was a little short with you after the game," Belichick said. "It was a frustrating game."

Belichick went on to explain that he didn't think anyone on the team played well enough, but couldn't go into detail until he had watched all the game film to pinpoint what went wrong.

It isn't clear what made Belichick apologize to the Boston press for acting in his infamously disgruntled manner. Whatever the reason, members of the football media took to Twitter to express their shock.

Whether Belichick has actually turned over a new leaf remains to be seen.
