Style called Angkor Wat, ca 12th century. Sandstone. H. 111 cm. Important male deity with two arms, represented standing. It has the waist surrounded by a finely pleated sampot maintained by a beaded waistband, adorned with the classic pattern of double row oval. On the front, the double anchor falls down to the lower limit of the garment, marking the desire of the artists of the period to return to a stylistic classicism echoing the great styles of the 10th century. A classic draped in the pocket covers the left thigh and the textile is tied in a bow tie at the level of the kidneys. The braided head is capped with a high bun held at its base by a ring, and adorned with a classic gold-plated tiara held at the back by a finely executed knot. A large necklace is evenly distributed between the chest and the back. The majority of the stylistic elements and the squaring of the shoulders are quite characteristic of the style of Angkor Wat. Body of deity with two arms, powerful torso emerging from a classic short sampot, tight at the waist and on the thighs by a belt now a whole set of falls and folds of textiles, falling «anchored» « between the legs. This same pleated back in the back where it blossoms »fan« above the belt. A drape »in pocket« is visible on the left thigh. This model approaches the archetypes of the style of which most of the examples were found on the site of Bakong, another great royal foundation of the reign of Indravarman I.
