EAST, Miami has partnered with the Istituto Marangoni, Miami, one of the fashion schools located in the Design District, to present a sustainable fashion facility in celebration of the month of the Earth. By donating recycled sheets, laundry bags, pillowcases, bathrobes and bath kits, which will be reused by the students of the institute to create unprecedented outfits, EAST, Miami and Marangoni will promote eco-friendly fashion and its sustainable practices, as per the official release.Inspired by Hong Kong and its Asian roots, EAST, Miami will present the final garments in the hotel lobby throughout the month of April, allowing both guests and the local community to discover them. The environmental celebration will continue with a cocktail at Domain, the cafeteria, and bar located in the hotel lobby, on April 10, according to the release.Giovanni Beretta, Vice President of Swire Hotels USA and General Manager of EAST, Miami, has been quoted as saying in the release, «Our partnership with Istituto Marangoni - Miami further reinforces the commitment of EAST, Miami and Swire Hotels to implement innovative and sustainable programs.» Beretta adds, «We hope to see what these future leaders in the design industry will create.”“As a precursor in ecological corporate responsibility and sustainable hospitality, EAST, Miami integrates environmental considerations into each project it launches, from the paperless approach or the automation of lights in the rooms to the »Climate Ribbon« in the pool area, which is a work of architectural design that captures the winds of the ocean to bring the natural breeze into the property,” says the release.»Each Marangoni Institute has its own DNA and our Miami campus focuses on sustainable fashion,« says Massimo Casagrande, Director of Education, as per the release. »We incorporate the concept of sustainable fashion in our curriculum and we are extremely careful with residual materials, we avoid the use of polyester and plastic, we encourage the use of eco-friendly materials and we challenge our students to create innovative projects that point to the reuse and recycling, we are grateful that EAST, Miami will give us this platform to show our work."According to the release, Istituto Marangoni is a school in the Italian fashion, art and design industry.
