Zenith showcased several new watches from it Defy, Pilot and 50th EL Primero Anniversary collections at Baselworld including the Defy Inventor.The Defy collection is an important part of Zenith renewed emphasis on advanced materials and technology and this was evident in its latest Defy Inventor timepiece which was showcased at Baselworld. The timepiece which the company describes as being “a reinvention of Huyguens sprung balance principle” in a press release comes with a single-piece Silicon oscillator that beats at a high frequency of 18Hz. The case of the timepiece is created from durable and lightweight titanium while the textured bezel is composed of Aeronith. The open worked dial is designed to mimic a stylized propeller, with blades that recreate the Zenith star.Also included in the new models of the Defy collection is the Defy EL Primero 21 Carbon which as its name suggests has a case that is made from alternating layers of carbon fiber that provide the timepiece with a unique visual effect. The Defy EL Primero Double Tourbillon meanwhile is being offered in two versions one of which has a 46 mm case created from Platinum 950 while the other has a 46 mm black carbon case. The Defy EL Primero Double Tourbillon which is a high-frequency chronograph is designed to measure 1/100th of a second and is powered by the El Primero 9020 caliber offering a power reserve of 50 hours.In the EL Primero A386 Revival Zenith is offering the revived versions in white, rose or yellow gold. The anniversary edition comes with a 38 mm diameter case, three-colored counters, and a tachymeter scale.
