Ulysse Nardin has created a concept «FREAK neXt» model as part of its iconic «FREAK» collection, and the watch comes with a 3D flying oscillator. The latest watch from Ulysse Nardin is a prototype, and it is designed to showcase the Swiss company’s technological expertise and cutting edge flexible silicium blade technology. The watch importantly paves the way for future models from the luxury manufacturer founded in 1846, and hints at how the new generation of “FREAK” will take innovation to the extreme. The watch was unveiled by Patrick Pruniaux, the CEO of Ulysse Nardin and Stephane Von Gunten, Research and Innovation Director, at a press conference that was held in London's Serpentine Gallery. During its unveiling the watch was described as a “concentrate of technologies in the same spirit as past innovations.” With the “FREAK neXt” concept watch, the Swiss company is aiming to prove that the adventurous spirit that the entire “FREAK” collection is famed for is alive and well, and continues to drive Ulysse Nardin's technical departments.Developed as a collaborative effort with Sigatec, a firm co-owned by Ulysse Nardin, the “Freak neXt” has a new 3D flying oscillator. The flying oscillator features a 3D multi-layer construction, four layers of blades and a solid layer that serves as a flywheel. The oscillator beats to a highly efficient frequency of 12 Hz, and provides a 70-hour power reserve which is an increase of about 30 percent. The new “FREAK neXt” features a white Superluminova bezel and is paired with a rubber strap in white. The sophisticated mechanism showcased in the watch is expected to be incorporated into commercially available products by the end of year.Click on the slideshow to check the watch.http://www.blouinartinfo.comFounder: Louise Blouin Read more
