Qing dynasty, qianlong / jiaqing period. The cylindrical body superbly carved in varying levels of relief with a highly animated continuous narrative scene, depicting twelve riders on galloping horses in a procession amidst a rocky landscape, the figures wielding swords, holding banners and drawing bows and arrows, divided by large branches of foliage and rockwork all beneath scudding skies and raised on five conforming low tab feet, the stone with scattered icy-white inclusions. Height 6 1/4 in., 16 cm. Estimate: 800,000 USD — 1,200,000 USD- A large and impressive limestone figure of a standing bodhisattva. Tang dynasty. Positioned atop a waisted, integral double-lotus base, standing with the slender right arm suspended by the side grasping a sash in the fleshy hand, the left arm tucked close to the body and bent at the elbow, the exposed torso with a rounded belly and the hips tilted forward above straight legs, the body adorned with a necklace at the chest, a long chain laden with different types of beads hanging across the body from the left shoulder to the right knee. Height 42 1/2 in., 108 cm. Estimate: 600,000 USD — 800,000 USD- A rare square-member 'huanghuali' recessed-leg table (pingtouan). 17th century. The well figured single board, tongue-and-grooved, floating panel set into a solid straight-edge frame of standard miter, the elegantly splayed rectangular legs cut to house the plain straight apron and right-angled spandrels and joined by two square-section stretchers. Height 32 in., 81.3 cm; Width 85 1/2 in., 217 cm; Depth 21 7/8 in., 55.6 cm. Estimate: 500,000 USD — 700,000 USD- A finely carved spinach-green jade 'scholars' brushpot. Qing dynasty, 18th century of cylindrical form with a shallow recessed base, meticulously carved in varied layers of relief with a continuous scene of six scholars accompanied by attendants all gathering in a garden setting with bamboo, pine, plantain, and wutong trees, two others ambling along a balustraded path, the stone a deep emerald green mottled with paler green patches. Height 6 1/8 in., 15.6 cm. Estimate: 400,000 USD — 600,000 USD- A rare pair of large doucai octagonal 'immortals' jardinieres. Kangxi marks and period. Each sturdily potted with flaring sides rising from a conforming splayed base to a wide everted, lipped and barbed rim, the gently curving sides divided neatly into eight rectangular panels, brilliantly enameled with finely painted scenes depicting Daoist Immortals receiving auspicious offerings from young acolytes. Width 22 1/4 in., 56.5 cm. Estimate: 300,000 USD — 500,000 USD- A fine ruby-ground 'floral' medallion bowl. The porcelain yongzheng mark and period. The enamels later-added. The rounded sides rising from a slightly tapered foot, the exterior with four medallions reserved against a rich fuchsia-colored ground, each medallion finely painted with auspicious flowers in full bloom. Diameter 5 5/8 in., 14.3 cm. Estimate: 300,000 USD — 500,000 USD- An extremely rare and large blue and white 'dragon' moonflask. Qing dynasty, 18th century. Skillfully potted with a broad, gently compressed, rounded body rising to a waisted neck and lipped rim, the neck flanked by a pair of archaistic chilong-form handles. Height 15 1/2 in, 39.4 cm.
