RM Sotheby’s 2019 auction calendar was kicked off with the company's successful 20th annual Arizona sale that took place on January 17 and 18, 2019, at Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, in Phoenix, Arizona. The top lots sold at the auction include, the 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona NART Spider by Michelotti that was sold for $670,500. It is the third of the five examples rebuilt to the order of Luigi Chinetti and was commissioned as a personal car for Luigi Chinetti’s wife, Marion. The next in line is the 1968 Ferrari 330 GTC by Pininfarina that went under the hammer for $687,000. It has a stunning Junior Conway paintwork and Tony Nancy interior and was also the first-ever 330 GTC invited to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The 2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Package also made it to the top ten at the auction, having been sold for $885,000. It is one of only 50 Nurburgring package-equipped LFAs and is virtually as new with just 54 miles. Another high grosser at the auction was the 1930 Cadillac V-16 Sport Phaeton by Fleetwood that was sold for $940,000. It was offered from the Richard L. Burdick Collection and is one of the 18 survivors of 85 Sport Phaetons built. It is an award-winning Stone Barn restoration car. The 2017 Ferrari F12tdf is another name in the list of top sales. This car, attractively finished in Grigio Titanio over two-tone blue interior, was sold for $1,006,000. The 1956 Bentley S1 Continental Drophead Coupe also forms one of the top lots at the Arizona auction. The car offered from a prominent private collection, with the most desirable coachwork on this particular chassis, went under the hammer for $1,077,500. It is one of 31 left-hand-drive examples and is documented with Rolls-Royce Foundation and Hunt House build information. The 1948 Tucker 48 was sold at a high price of $1,600,000. This car is considered as the icon of American film and culture, and has a revolutionary post-war design. This tucker was researched and documented by Tucker historian Jay Follis and is the freshest restored Tucker extant. The 1967 Ferrari 330 GTS crossed $2 million mark. It was sold for $2,012,500. The car was offered from the famed Skip Barber Collection, with its original engine and gearbox. The 1958 BMW 507 Roadster Series II also raised the bar high at the auction as it was sold for $2,175,000. The 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO, on the other hand, became the highest priced sale at the Arizona auction, having been sold at a whopping price of $3,360,000. https://www.blouinartinfo.com/ Founder: Louise Blouin Read more
