Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) and Bennetts Associates have bagged the contracts to design the new Facebook Headquarters at King’s Cross, London.In a recent deal signed with King’s Cross, the tech giant has committed to take over 55,000 square meters of office space — which is nearly 15% of King’s Cross’ total commercial portfolio. The new headquarters will be spread over three buildings — 11 and 21 Canal Reach to be designed by Bennetts Associates, and P2 on Lewis Cubitt Square to be designed by AHMM, stated ArchDaily.11 Canal Reach will have a 12-storey building containing 22,000 square meters of office space. The 21 Canal Reach address will have 16,000 square meters of floorspace. Apart from Grade A office space, the two buildings will feature 4,000 square meters of landscaped roof gardens and terraces.Stirling Prize winning firm AHMM is designing the P2 building, which will feature 20,000 square meters of office space, a new theater, wraparound terrace on fifth-floor, and ground floor retail space.«We chose King's Cross because it has considerable expansion opportunities, great transportation access, and is part of a vibrant community,» said Rob Cookson, head of global real estate at Facebook.“This investment is great news for the capital.
