One of the world’s biggest celebrations of furnishing and design begins today in Milan as the 57th edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano 2018 takes off at Rho Fairgrounds.The event promises to be as exciting as ever with more than 2,000 exhibitors from across the world setting up stalls on over 205,000 square meter of exhibition space.This year’s edition features five exhibitions, which are being held simultaneously: Salone Internazionale del Mobile, International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, EuroCucina and FTK (Technology For the Kitchen), International Bathroom Exhibition, and SaloneSatellite. More than 1,300 exhibitors are coming at one place for Salone Internazionale del Mobile and International Furnishing Accessories presenting works in three style categories: “Design,” “xLux,” and “Classic: Tradition in the Future.” EuroCucina along with its collateral event FTK (Technology For the Kitchen) features the latest in contemporary kitchens while providing insights into the future evolution of this space. This year’s International Bathroom Exhibition promises to be larger than ever with furniture and accessories, shower cubicles and saunas, sanitaryware and radiators, coverings, taps, along with bathtubs and hot tubs. SaloneSatellite 2018 returns for its 21st edition at the event with more than 650 designers, with a special focus on design from Africa and Latin America in “Rising Design – Design Emergente.” The Latin American exhibit has been curated by brothers Humberto and Fernando Campana, and the African part by Franco-Moroccan designer Hicham Lahlou.
