Selldorf Architects has been selected by the High Museum of Art in Atlanta for a large-scale reinstallation of its collection in all seven fields including Photography, European Art, Decorative Arts, and Design. The New York-based architects will address aspects such as wayfinding, space planning, signage, casework, wall configuration, object location, and lighting fuctionality to create a cohesive experience that deepens engagement, noted ArchDaily.Annabelle Selldorf, Principal, says: “The reinstallation of the collection is an opportunity to create a more coherent and unified experience throughout the High. We are very excited to be working with a collection of such depth and quality in buildings by two architects whose work I hold in the highest regard.”The renovation works also include adding rotating project spaces and creating dedicated environment for the collection. Chief curator Kevin W. Tucker, says: “Our vision for this reinstallation project is to highlight the incredible strengths of our collection while connecting these widely ranging works through shared interpretive schemes embracing equity, diversity and approachability.”The renovated building is expected to be unveiled in October 2018.
