Dipoli, which once served as a conference center for Helsinki University of Technology, has undergone a complete renovation and is now part of the main building of Aalto University.Recently opened for this year’s fall semester, Dipoli functions as a flexible workspace for administration, lecture events, university festivities, as well as a display platform for the university’s research and design projects, noted ArchDaily. The building also houses cafeterias, restaurants, and bar and caters to both students and staff.Designed by ALA Architects, the renovated “re-radicalized” structure creates an open and dynamic user experience, while keeping the original design vision of Raili and Reima Pietilä intact.A test lab for flexible working methods, Dipoli is designed to serve as the base for two hundred of the university’s administrative employees.The renovation of the building was part of a larger project.
