The newly-completed Dollar Bay, a 31-storey residential tower in London Docklands, defines the new landmark for the Canary Wharf skyline. Its waterfront location, spectacular views, iconic architecture, and high specification interiors make for a unique residential experience. The building’s angular, glass façade with folds and creases captures light differently, making it look like a waterfall. The spacious, light-filled apartments with floor-to-ceiling glazing are complete with a generously-sized winter garden. “Stunning views across the Thames and back to the city can be enjoyed through the generous Winter gardens and fully-glazed façades from the depth of the living and bedroom spaces,” says Christian Male, Partner and Architect at SimpsonHaugh. The Winter garden also acts as a thermal buffer zone, creating a microclimate that offers natural ventilation and responds to all weather conditions. The architecture has an integrated dock water comfort cooling system that will help in keeping the building cool, potentially reducing the carbon footprint by 23 percent compared to traditional technologies. A dock-view gym, private garden, children’s playground, outdoor seating, public art, and a café complete the living ecosystem at Dollar Bay.For more information, visit: www.simpsonhaugh.com/ Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the project.
